In 1947 Johs. Vestre established the company which was to become the dominating leader in play area and park equipment in Norway. By using innovative ideas combined with high quality demands, Vestre has pleased people for generations. The very first benches were manufactured over 55 years ago, and are still in daily use in the town hall park in Haugesund.
Excerpt from a letter from the municipal department for parks and recreation grounds at Notodden in 1951.
“We would like to thank you for the benches received, and which we in all aspects are very satisfied with. The benches are of a solid and excellent finish and they are also a pleasure to look at and sit on. We can safely recommend them to private and public areas.”
Vestre’s main office is today situated in Oslo, Norway. Production, stock, quality control and logistics are handled from a modern manufacturing plant at Kvål, Norway. A subsidiary and equally efficient plant is located at Torsby, Sweden.
The hallmark of the Vestre collection is design and quality. During the development of new products, design and environment are crucial factors, and this has resulted in several awards from the Norwegian Design Council.
