Floating park for nature and everyday use
Chicago, Illinois, United States

The development forms part of a large-scale urban transformation process implemented over several years, resulting in a continuous public realm with promenades, plazas, and areas for staying. Friends of Waterfront Seattle play a central role in activating, programming, and supporting the long-term use of the area.Vestre’s furniture — including the BLOC and APRIL GO collections — introduces color along the waterfront and creates clearly defined areas for staying. It supports the use of the waterfront as a place for meeting, relaxation, and informal everyday use.The detailed design implementation was carried out with the involvement of Berger Partnership as a local planning partner. In combination with the overall design, the result is a robust and well-functioning outdoor environment that strengthens the quality of the waterfront and supports the use of the new park.
