Vestre AS has been assessed at the “Implementer” level by Ethical Trade Norway. The assessment confirms that the company systematically translates due diligence into concrete actions across its own operations and supply chain.

Vestre elevated to a new level in ethical trade

Vestre AS has been a member of Ethical Trade Norway since 2007 and continues to strengthen its work on responsible business practices and sustainability throughout the entire value chain. In its 2025 report, the company demonstrates how due diligence is not only established as formal systems, but is actively applied as an integrated part of corporate governance.

The assessment indicates that due diligence processes have been operationalised, risks are prioritised, measures are implemented, and progress is systematically monitored. According to Ethical Trade Norway, this reflects a clear level of maturity and strong governance, with measures being used as a genuine management tool rather than solely for documentation purposes.

“We see that it is through collaboration with our suppliers that we can truly drive change. With 98–99 per cent of our emissions classified as indirect emissions in the value chain (Scope 3), we must work closely across the entire value chain to achieve meaningful reductions. At the same time, we are building an organisation that is prepared for further growth without compromising our values,”

Bjørn Fjellstad, Chief Executive Officer of Vestre AS

Vestre is preparing its organisation for further global scaling, has strengthened key roles, and has optimised its production facilities in Torsby, Sweden, Vestre Steel Factory, and The Plus at Magnor. Long-term partnerships within the supply chain remain central. In August 2025, Vestre brought together around 30 of its closest suppliers for the fourth annual Climate Action Day, a tangible continuation of close and transparent collaboration.

Through its 2030 strategy, Vestre translates ambition into tangible results. A clear framework enables close monitoring of progress, and multiple parts of the organisation are involved in delivering strategic initiatives.

“Vestre demonstrates in this year’s report that it not only has due diligence systems in place, but also actively applies them in practice. They are an integrated part of the business and used as a genuine management tool — and only then can they contribute to real improvements. I look forward to following Vestre’s continued progress,”
