Urban forest transforms asphalt and concrete into a green light rail plaza and a new gateway to Gladsaxe City Hall

At Gladsaxe City Hall, a formerly traffic-dominated area is being transformed into a green and connected public space linking the light rail station with Gladsaxe City Hall, Gladsaxe Gymnasium and Buddinge Centret. The project replaces asphalt and traffic areas with more greenery, new places to sit and gather, and improved connections for pedestrians and cyclists. The urban forest is designed to create a more attractive and welcoming arrival to Gladsaxe. Landscape becomes a stronger element of the public realm, while the new plaza supports everyday life, informal gatherings and opportunities to pause.
