Vestre elevated to a new level in ethical trade

NewsApril 7, 2026

Vestre AS has been assessed at the “Implementer” level by Ethical Trade Norway. The assessment confirms that the company systematically translates due diligence assessments into concrete actions within its own operations and supply chain.

Vestre elevated to a new level in ethical trade

Vestre AS has been a member of Ethical Trade Norway since 2007 and continues to strengthen its work on responsible business practices and sustainability across the entire value chain. In its 2025 report, the company documents how due diligence is not only established as systems, but is actively used as an integrated part of corporate governance.

The assessment means that due diligence processes are operationalized, risks are prioritized, measures are implemented, and the work is followed up systematically. According to Ethical Trade Norway, this is a clear sign of maturity and strong governance, where measures are used as an actual management tool, not merely for documentation purposes.

“We see that it is through collaboration with our suppliers that we can truly create change. When 98–99 percent of our emissions are indirect emissions in the value chain (Scope 3), we must work closely with the entire value chain to achieve real reductions. At the same time, we are building an organization that is prepared for further growth without compromising our values,”

Bjørn Fjellstad, CEO of Vestre AS

Vestre is preparing its organization for further global scaling, has strengthened key positions, and has optimized its production facilities in Torsby, Sweden, Vestre Steel Factory, and The Plus at Magnor. Long-term partnerships in the supply chain remain central. In August 2025, Vestre gathered around 30 of its closest suppliers for the fourth annual Climate Action Day, a concrete continuation of close and transparent collaboration.

Through its 2030 strategy, Vestre translates ambitions into tangible results. A clear framework makes it possible to closely track progress, and multiple parts of the organization are involved in implementing strategic initiatives.

“Vestre demonstrates in this year’s report that they not only have systems for due diligence in place, but also actively use them in practice. It is an integrated part of the business and used as a real management tool—and only then can it contribute to actual improvements. I look forward to following Vestre’s work going forward,”
