A place to stay and observe in an airport setting
Long Beach, United States

Designed by BIG – Bjarke Ingels Group in collaboration with Heatherwick Studio, the project follows a user-centered approach. The layout combines focused work areas with spaces for informal exchange, creating a spatial framework that supports collaboration and day-to-day interaction. Courtyards, pathways, and shared environments play a key role in this structure. The campus is closely linked to its landscape setting. Natural areas, restored habitats, and a network of paths and outdoor spaces connect the buildings and create a continuous environment for movement, staying, and social interaction.Vestre’s furniture — including the BLOC, STOOP, and MOVE collections — supports this structure in the outdoor areas by defining places to stay and meet. It enables informal use and complements the outdoor spaces as an integral part of the working environment.
