An outdoor space connecting kindergarten and neighborhood

In 2024, a new outdoor area was created in front of the kindergarten at the Pädagogisches Zentrum Ingolstadt. Rather than a traditional playground, the space is conceived as an open meeting place and forms part of a newly developed residential neighbourhood. Situated between new housing and complementary social infrastructure, the area functions as a publicly accessible forecourt. It offers a place to pause, meet and spend time, independent of kindergarten opening hours.

Seating from the FORUM series subtly structures the space, creating clear points of orientation for parents, residents and passers-by. A calm colour palette allows the furniture to blend naturally into its surroundings, while its robust quality supports long-term use in a public setting.
The result is an open space that mediates between the kindergarten and the surrounding neighbourhood, a natural extension of daily life and a clear expression of public belonging.
