As part of the comprehensive redevelopment of Seattle’s central waterfront, a public park of approximately 20 acres was created along the downtown shoreline. The project aims to reconnect the city with the waterfront of Elliott Bay and provide new accessible open spaces.

The development forms part of a large-scale urban transformation process implemented over several years, resulting in a continuous public realm with promenades, plazas and areas for staying. Friends of Waterfront Seattle play a central role in activating, programming and supporting the long-term use of the area.Vestre’s furniture — including the BLOC and APRIL GO collections — introduces colour along the waterfront and creates clearly defined areas for staying. It supports the use of the waterfront as a place for meeting, relaxation and informal everyday use.The detailed design implementation was carried out with the involvement of Berger Partnership as a local planning partner. In combination with the overall design, the result is a robust and well-functioning outdoor environment that strengthens the quality of the waterfront and supports the use of the new park.
